“She had a way of making you feel like the most important person in the room.”
Her name was Feliz Esther. Feliz means happy; Esther, for the Jewish queen of Persia who courageously saved her people from annihilation. Together, her name carries joy, courage, beauty, and grace.
On June 19, 2026, Feliz passed from this world into the presence of God at the age of 34. She was an artist who possessed an innate nature of kindness — compassionate and helpful to her friends and acquaintances alike. Her life was a ministry.
A bright student, she achieved an excellence award at Concordia University and was an awardee in Arts at Georgetown District High School. She sold some of her paintings to raise funds for community projects, adopted a refugee family and cats, and loved beyond understanding.
Feliz was the beloved daughter of Edwin and Divinia; a caring sister to Earnest John, Ruth, and Justine; and an adored aunt to Gemma, Thomas Edric, and Casey John. She was cherished by her in-laws Cheryl and Jonathan, the Tupe clan of cousins, aunts, and uncles, and her classmates and friends across the community and city of Montreal.
She worked as a self-employed bookkeeper and tax preparer after completing a course in finance, and studied horticulture. She loved plants and flowers, and found renewal in nature — especially the mountains, where she went to unwind and refresh her mind and body.
If she touched your life, leave a few words. We'd love to read them.
“She had a way of making you feel like the most important person in the room.”
“Feliz taught me that art is a form of healing. I think about that every day.”
